St. Gregory's has served the wider Church over the years by freely offering the results of our years of liturgical innovation and experimentation. We call these documents "scripts" because they contain both the lines spoken in the liturgy and directions for action. All of them have been developed by repeated use in our own liturgical space, so adaptation is required for using them in other contexts. We hope that you won't try to copy what we do at St. Gregory's exactly, but will adapt these scripts and materials so they work for you! The materials below were written for St. Gregory's daily and weekly liturgies, Holy Week services, and special services.
Weekly Sunday Scripts
We have three Sunday liturgies: the 8:30 Eucharist - a simple 45-minute sung Eucharist; the 10:30 Eucharist - a more elaborate 75-minute sung Eucharist with choir. We conclude every Sunday with an evening service called Story of a Saint that looks at one of our dancing saints.
Special Liturgy Scripts
We make use of liturgical practices from many different traditions. You will see that reflected in our Ash Wednesday script. We also make use of the most recent liturgies of the Episcopal Church, including our marriage script. You can also find a script for a funeral held during the Sunday morning liturgy, as well as our Baptism script.
Holy Week Scripts
Our scripts are a complete guide to every element of the liturgies of Holy Week, and to every role. We prepare detailed scripts for each service. Here are the scripts for Palm Sunday,Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter Day; you can see videos of Holy Week here.
